Mano Alexandre

Lecturer

Mano is Known for blending compelling imagery, storytelling and social awareness through his work. The Haitian born Filmmaker was awarded the Bert Saperstein grant which underwrote his Documentary Film on the squalid work conditions in the sugarcane camps of the Dominican Republic, “Welcome to Batey 6”. His 2007 “NYC Transit” program for PBS was nominated by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for their prestigious Emmy Award. For over a decade Mano has used storytelling and visual experimentation to produce a wide range of short films for Brooklyn’s award-winning BRIC TV. In 2021 he received another Emmy nod for his short film “Parang”. That was the first award nomination for his web streaming entrepreneurial project “Manosalon.”
