Katie began her work in UI Extension as an intern in 2003 at University of Idaho Extension in Lemhi County. In 2005 she began her position as the Lemhi County 4-H assistant and in 2008, settled into her current position as Extension educator for Lemhi County. Since then, Katie has served her community in the areas of community development, food safety, health and nutrition, and 4-H youth development. Katie's work focuses on meeting the community needs in social and cultural capital development, food insecurity, youth alternatives to substance misuse, home preservation, handwashing and cooking and nutrition. Katie partners with local organizations like the Lemhi County Economic Development Association, the Salmon Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition and the Salmon Community Dinner. Born and raised in Lemhi County, Katie has a unique opportunity to give back to the community and programs that were instrumental in her upbringing.
