Vandal Clean Energy Club (VCEC)
Club Purpose & Goals
Vandal Clean Energy Club (VCEC) educates, promotes, and implements clean energy and sustainable practices in and around the University of Idaho. This is done through outreach, policy, hands on engineering projects, and many others. VCEC is committed to clean energy in every form. Team Achievements
VCEC received their second grant from the Sustainability Center. This grant allows them to begin refurbishing a solar collector which will provide a carbon neutral heating source for their biodiesel purification process in the J. W. Martin Lab (JML).
VCEC also annually hosts "Biodiesel Awareness Week" on the University of Idaho campus. This event highlights the history of biodiesel and its production at the University of Idaho. In past years, VCEC has held hands-on demonstrations, scavenger hunts, and even helped publish a comic book all about biodiesel.
