About
Women in Engineering (WIE) Day is a free program to encourage pre-college high school students to investigate careers in engineering or computer science. It is an interactive workshop with hands-on activities, professional networking, lab tours, and more!
WHO
All students, grades 5-12, are invited to register, especially those with an interest in math and science, and all those interested in engineering career paths. Teachers are also invited to attend and learn more about introducing students to the possibilities within engineering.
WHAT
You will be introduced to the myths and realities of diversity in STEM, especially engineering. The event includes design competitions, professional and student panel, and tours of the University of Idaho College of Engineering’s departments.
WHERE
The University of Idaho in Moscow is the home to Idaho’s nationally recognized College of Engineering. With a 125-year history of educating engineers, the College of Engineering offers traditional and multidisciplinary approaches to preparing students for their future success in engineering and computer science careers. WIE Day is your opportunity to virtually tour our world-class facilities.
WHY
At the end of the workshop, you will have a much better idea of what it means to be an engineer, and how you can use your strengths in math and science to help make a difference in the world!
