About Jake
Career Consultant Serving the College of Letters, Arts and Social Sciences | College of Agricultural and Life Sciences
Jake is a proud UMass Dartmouth alum who enjoys working alongside students to pursue their career aspirations. Before joining Career Services in 2023, Jake earned his Master’s in Rhetoric and Composition from Ball State University and worked as an Instructor at Florida State University, teaching undergraduate classes in the Editing, Writing and Media Program. With a long history of student-centered work as a tutor and instructor, Jake invests in collaborating with students in the writing process.
As a career consultant, Jake merges his history as a writing instructor and tutor to help students and alumni not only with their professional documents, but also to discover career paths that they can be excited about. As a first-generation college student, Jake embraces his role in helping students navigate career opportunities during their college careers.
In his spare time, Jake enjoys weightlifting, basketball and continues his doctoral studies at Florida State University.
