About Clayton

Career Consultant Serving the College of Business and Economics | College of Natural Resources

Clayton is a proud Vandal alum who enjoys working with all Vandals to achieve their career ambitions. He is a retired Navy nuclear engineering officer with over 20 years of service, having held leadership and management positions in engineering, logistics, budgeting and maintenance at several executive level commands. Outside of his naval career, he has extensive work experience in both the public and private sectors. A summary of his work history includes experience with the Forest Service and the state of Idaho managing water resources, holding several trade industry certifications; as well as, ranching and farming.

As a career consultant, Clayton utilizes his work experience to help students and alumni navigate their career options. He enjoys helping others recognize the skills and experiences they have gained through life, both in and out of the classroom and connect them to their career aspirations.

In his spare time, Clayton enjoys working on antique farm equipment and helping people with their land management strategies. In the winter, he can be found supporting local and youth hockey programs.
