Constance Sorkpor specializes in comparative political economy within the realm of political science. His academic pursuits and teaching dynamically lie at the intersection of comparative politics, international relations, and public administration.

Constance Sorkpor’s work addresses issues of political economy, and development, power, and comparative institutional analysis. He is interested in the debates of developmental state-building and global production network analysis, institutional change and persistence, varieties of capitalism, sustainability and climate change politics, economic catch-up, and bureaucratic politics, including, how varieties of politics-administration ties shape how policies are implemented at local and national levels. His current research focusses on understanding how power relations and domestic politics interact with global forces to shape upgrading outcomes of developing economies in global production networks, along with its broader implications for developmental outcomes. Sorkpor received his bachelor's in administration (Public Administration) and master's (Public Administration) from the University of Ghana, Legon, before completing a master's and doctorate from the Tokyo-based National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), Japan. Additionally, he has worked at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), teaching a wide range of courses in the discipline of public administration. He is also accomplished in policy analysis, project management and business development and facilitation mainly related to promoting private sector development and forging partnerships toward the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As part of this experience, he oversaw research and development initiatives, offering consultancy services to Yamagata University, and other major corporations like Asahi KASEI Group, Suzuki Motor Corporation, Toyobo Co., Ltd., and Mitsubishi Electric in Tokyo, Japan.
