Fund a Project
Researchers at the University of Idaho work on a variety of world-class projects, often with support and collaboration from partners in industry, the public sector, nonprofits and more. From improving power systems with Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories to the study of sustainable fish farming with Idaho aquaculture companies and beyond, university researchers take on complex issues with results that expand knowledge and lead to on-the-ground improvements.
This research is accomplished with cutting-edge facilities and equipment, and a wealth of expertise from faculty, staff and students. The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) and the Office of Technology Transfer (OTT) are available to help you establish a productive relationship with university researchers to make the next research breakthrough.
OSP and OTT will work with you to identify researchers who meet your needs, introduce you to those researchers and put the wheels in motion on your project. We have flexible intellectual property practices, including an expanded intellectual property policy. Depending on the circumstances, the university may enter into a nondisclosure agreement to facilitate initial discussions.
Business and industry representatives interested in supporting university research can visit the Corporate Partners page for information on funding projects, licensing technology, investing in students, and recruiting talent.
