Business Law
Three College of Law students, Jamie Schwantes, Michael DeLeon Guerrero, and Clayton Boeckel, won the Idaho State Bar Business and Corporate Law Section 2020 research and writing competition and were invited to present their papers to the Section’s annual meeting in Boise.
Entrepreneurs and innovators need lawyers to organize enterprises, negotiate transactions, and protect intellectual property. The Business Law Emphasis (BLE) provides a structured set of courses, faculty mentorship, and practical skills opportunities for students who wish to develop substantive knowledge and practical experience in this area. Students who elect to pursue the Emphasis take a common core of required courses and then choose to follow one of two substantive tracks within the Emphasis:
- The Transactional Law track is designed for students to focus their studies on the various laws that govern business and commercial transactions.
- The Intellectual Property Law track is designed for students to focus their studies on the legal issues surrounding the protection of intellectual property and the management of intellectual property rights.
For more information about the BLE Emphasis, see the requirements document on the right or contact Professor Couture.
