Randall Seminars
Funded by Dr. Jan Randall, invited speakers discuss the accomplishments of women in a variety of scientific fields as well as career and personal issues facing women in the sciences today. Since 2004, the Randall Seminar Fund has supported one or two seminars per year within the Biological Sciences Departmental Seminar Series. These seminars are accompanied by scheduled opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and faculty to engage with the speakers.
This interdisciplinary seminar project is funded by Dr. Jan Randall, a member of the science faculty at San Francisco State University and an alumna of the University of Idaho Department of Biological Sciences. One of the most important themes in Dr. Randall’s career has been her concern for the professional development of women, and particularly women in scientific fields. Dr. Randall and her husband, Dr. Bruce MacEvoy, fund the seminar speakers and we thank them for their continued and generous support of the Department of Biological Sciences and the University of Idaho.
