Restricted and Invitational Funding Opportunities

For certain awards, some sponsors only accept institutional nominations and/or limit the number of applications that an institution may submit. When the number of applicants and/or nominees is limited, and investigators from more than one department or college qualify, the Office of Research and Economic Development coordinates the selection process, attempting to makes sure that candidates across the university are treated equitably. Ad hoc committees are appointed to review proposal applications and assist in the selection of the University of Idaho’s nominee(s). In such cases, to allow adequate time for a review and selection of final candidates, internal deadlines are set well in advance of official sponsor deadlines.
