Academic Impressions

In partnership with the Office of the Provost & Executive Vice President and the University of Idaho Library, Employee Development and Learning offers all U of I employees access to Academic Impressions. Academic Impressions (AI) is a platform dedicated to providing leadership, personal development and skills-based training opportunities to employees in higher education. Most training is free via our partnership with AI, and some courses are available with a fee.

All University of Idaho employees can access AI through their Single Sign-On (SSO). Visit Academic Impressions and click “Create Account/Login” in the upper right corner of the screen.

Enter your “uidaho.edu” email address. A blue box saying “Log in using your University of Idaho credentials” will appear.

A "Username or email address" field contains "joevandal@uidaho.edu." Below that is the message "Welcome University of Idaho!" and the button "Log in using your University of Idaho credentials."

Click on the blue box and follow the U of I authentication prompts. Once you are logged in, click on the “Start Learning” link in the navigation near the top of the page and start exploring!

*NEW* Supporting Career Growth Conversations — March 12

Career growth conversations are something that every supervisor and leader should be having with their employees. It is a data-driven method that is directly correlated with job satisfaction and employee retention. These discussions of growth create a psychologically safe environment for employees and let them know that their leaders support their growth and professional development.

In this session, you will learn about why these conversations work and the studies and data that support them. In addition, you will find how these conversations are structured through a simple and proven model. Finally, you will practice a strengths-based conversation with your colleagues.

This live training will take place from 9-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 12. Please register via Bridge@UofI.

Learn Effective Supervision Strategies & Practical Tools to Support Your Team in Just Four Weeks

Effective supervision is key to building an effective culture where everyone can contribute to team success. Beginning Monday, March 3 or April 7, join Academic Impressions online for a four-week bootcamp specifically designed for higher education supervisors who are new to their roles or looking to deepen their skills.

Each week you’ll have an average of 2.5 hours of work that can be completed on demand. The course will contain two live sessions. The first session will take place after Week No. 2, and the second session will be scheduled during the fourth week of the course.

The Program Curriculum Includes the following:

  • Week No. 1 — Introduction and Setting Up the Supervisory Relationship
  • Week No. 2 — Performance Management & Delivering Effective Feedback with Live Session #1
  • Week No. 3 — Navigating Conflict and Part One of Cultivating and Retaining Staff
