Kenneth Locke's teaching focuses on personality psychology and human sexuality, and his research focuses on the assessment and modeling of interpersonal and social perceptions, dispositions, and dynamics.

After receiving his doctorate from Stanford University in 1989, Ken Locke held a variety of teaching, research, and clinical positions before joining the University of Idaho in 1996. Locke was promoted to full professor in 2004 and served as department chair from 2007-2012. Locke regularly teaches undergraduate courses on personality psychology and human sexuality. He is the primary author or a co-author on over 75 peer-reviewed journal articles or book chapters on topics spanning personality, social, clinical, organizational, and cross-cultural psychology. Locke is also a Licensed Psychologist with current interests in the assessment of social dispositions and neurodevelopmental disorders.
