  • Ph.D. Counseling Psychology, New Mexico State University, 2018
  • M.S. Clinical-Counseling Psychology, Illinois State University, 2012

Terhorst-Miller is a lifelong learner. After discovering her love of psychology, especially learning about what causes human suffering and brings about positive change, she pursued training in the helping professions. During this time, Terhorst-Miller developed an interest in investigating factors that help trainees (e.g. counselors and psychologist in training) develop into competent practitioners. Specifically, Terhorst-Miller is interested in investigating how to develop and assess cultural competence in trainees. In addition to researching these topics, Terhorst-Miller is an educator and a clinician. She is a licensed psychologist who particularly enjoys providing clinical supervision to trainees. In her spare time, Terhorst-Miller like to be creative and enjoy life. She appreciates music (singing, playing piano, dancing, listening, etc.), creative writing, and playing card/board games with family and friends.
