American Studies Minor
The American Studies Program at the University of Idaho students to gain an understanding of U.S. history, society and cultures, past and present. It centers on courses that promote a multiethnic perspective on the U.S. Students may also examine U.S. experience within the broader context of Canadian and Latin American experience and from an international perspective. With its choice of emphases in history, social science or American literature, the American Studies program gives students the flexibility to explore a variety of academic fields to widen their knowledge and prepare them for professional life or graduate study.

American Studies Minor
- AMST 301 Interpreting America (3 credits).
- Five courses numbered 300 or above, pre-approved by the American Studies advisor (15 credits).
- Courses to total 18 credits for this minor.
- No course counting toward the American Studies minor can also count for any major.
