Enroll Idaho

Universities, community colleges, vocational schools and military service represent just a few of the pathways available to Idaho's high school graduates. Thirty six percent of Idaho's high school students choose to continue their education after high school. The Enroll Idaho program provides students with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions about opportunities after high school.

About the Program

I’m at a middle school and students are starting to explore what college looks like. We already saw students with their t-shirts on and excited around college.Kasi Beorchia, Counselor

The Enroll Idaho program is a public service initiative designed to inspire students to pursue education beyond high school. Our dynamic presentations feature an engaging video, financial guidance and a keynote from either our President, Scott Green or Vice Provost, Dr. Dean Kahler. We aim to educate students on available financial resources and empower them to confidently achieve their educational goals.

Our team, including the Director of Financial Aid, Randi Croyle, and the Director of Military and Veteran Services, Jason Nierman, often attend these events with special appearances by our mascot, the legendary Joe Vandal. Students receive free shirts, stickers and pens, adding to the lively and interactive experience.

Typically lasting an hour, our presentation's length is adaptable based upon student engagement and questions. Our staff collaborate closely with school counselors and administrators and we will provide all necessary materials. Importantly, there is no cost to schools for the program.

The Enroll Idaho program offers outreach to high schools, delivering valuable information about the benefits of higher education and the financial aid options available, such as scholarships, grants, loans and work-study opportunities. By bringing our program to schools, students can access critical information and discover opportunities they might not have previously considered.

100% have the program come to your school. Any knowledge and information you can give to your students is vital for their futures.Karolyn Clark, College and Career Advisor

By hosting Enroll Idaho, high schools underscore their commitment to promoting higher education and supporting students in their academic and career pursuits. This initiative sends a strong, positive message about the importance of post-secondary education and encourages students to explore their options beyond high school.

A Lasting Impact

University of Idaho's Enroll Idaho program highlights educational opportunities across the state. We have visited nearly half of Idaho's schools and visited with over 13,000 Idahoan students. These discussions are impactful in guiding students towards exploring their educational paths after high school. The program supports students in navigating college admissions and career planning and helps to increase Idaho’s college matriculation rate.

Event Schedule

Enroll Idaho strives to reach students across the state, and that requires a lot of travel. To engage with as many students as we can over the academic year, we schedule our visits by region. If you would like to invite us to your high school and we've already visited your region this year, we still encourage you to reach out in case we can make it back to that area or otherwise to get you scheduled for the next academic year.

The Spring travel schedule will be posted in January, allowing us to continue our outreach and support your students as they plan for their academic futures. We look forward to partnering with you to inspire and empower. Stay tuned for more details, and please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.

Hear from Counselors

“I thought it was awesome. Anything that can encourage these students to go on after High School is so beneficial. You know they need to understand that there are so many options after High School and college is important whether that is a 2-year degree, 4-year degree, or the trades and tech programs. It’s vital for them to get some kind of knowledge to help them with their careers later on. I think there is a difference between a career and a job. These kids need to know a job isn’t going to take you for the rest of your life, so you need to get some kind of training for a career. 100% have the program come to your school. Any knowledge and information you can give to your students is vital for their futures.”
— Karolyn Clark, College and Career Advisor at South Fremont High School

“I loved that it got students involved all the way throughout. I’m at a middle school and students are just starting to explore what college looks like and they had really great questions because they learned so much about the presentation and they were genuinely curious. Which is really fantastic, we want our students to see the value of education and the value of staying in Idaho and supporting the University of Idaho as well. Students walked away excited about the university, and wearing their T-shirts around. We already saw students in the hallway with their t-shirts on, and just excited around college.”
— Kasi Beorchia, Counselor at Franklin Middle School
