Doctoral Candidate Wins Best Student Paper Award

Electrical engineering doctoral candidate Husam Samkari was awarded the 2021 Georgia Tech Clayton Griffin Best Student Paper Award for his paper “Impact of Inverter Based Resources on Superimposed Quantities-Based Protection.” Samkari earned a $500 prize for his achievement. He is an intern at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories and works under Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories Endowed Chair in Power Engineering and University Distinguished Professor Brian Johnson.
