New Employee Benefit Resources
Welcome to the University of Idaho!
We are committed to offering a competitive, affordable benefit program that meets the health and financial needs of you and your family.
As a new employee, you have 30 days from your first day of work to sign up for and customize your benefits. If you don't sign up within 30 days, you will be automatically enrolled in default coverage. Even if you don't want U of I health insurance (for example, if you are covered under a spouse's plan or under military coverage), you must complete the benefit enrollment process to waive your coverage.
To get started, select your plan below.
Benefit Plan
You are eligible for the benefit plan if you are a Board of Regents-appointed employee. This includes most employees, including those who work half-time or more in faculty, exempt, classified and postdoctoral positions. The benefit plan is a comprehensive package that includes medical, vision, dental, prescription drug, life insurance, wellness benefits and more.
Affordable Care Act (ACA) Basic Plan
If you are not eligible for the standard benefit plan, but do meet one of the following criteria, you are eligible for medical and prescription drug coverage under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Note that if you choose to enroll in ACA coverage you are responsible for the full cost—it is not subsidized by U of I.
- Temporary employees working at least 30 hours per week
