Bhaskar Rimal is an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science at University of Idaho. He was an assistant professor of computer and cyber sciences at Dakota State University. He was a visiting assistant professor and academic specialist at the Department of Computer Science at Tennessee Tech. University, Cookeville. Rimal was a visiting scholar with the Department of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA.

He currently serves as a technical editor for the IEEE Network and associate editor for the IEEE Access. Further, he served as an associate technical editor for the IEEE Communications Magazine, associate editor for the EURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, and an editor for the Internet Technology Letters. Rimal is a senior member of the IEEE and the ACM.
