Farmworker Awareness Week
National Farmworker Awareness Week (NFAW) is a week of action for students and community members to raise awareness about farmworker issues on our campuses and in our communities. In 2024 we celebrate National Farmworker Awareness Week to raise awareness about farmworker conditions and to honor their important contributions.

Free Speech Wall

Long Sleeve Shirt, Glove and Hat Drive
Dates: March 25-31
Collected shirts, gloves and hats will be donated to help Idaho farmworkers protect themselves against the dangers of sun and pesticide exposure.

Bandana Project — Women’s Center FAW Crafternoon
Date: Friday, March 22 | Women’s Center, Memorial Gym 109 | 12:30-2:30 p.m.
Join us at the WC! Come decorate a bandana and learn about the Bandana Project, a campaign raising awareness of workplace sexual violence against farmworker women.
Keynote Speaker: Viviana González and Voces Del Campo
Date: Thursday, March 28 | International Ballroom, Pitman Center | 6 p.m.
Viviana González is a dedicated attorney with a passion for serving her community and advocating for justice. Viviana is the proud daughter of farmworkers, whose hard work and resilience instilled in her a deep appreciation for perseverance and the value of education. Today, as an attorney specializing in immigration law, Viviana draws upon her diverse experiences and understanding of multicultural issues to advocate tirelessly for her clients.
*Program will feature our Keynote Speaker and a shortened version of Voices from the Fields

FAW Day of Service — Office of Multicultural Affairs
Dates: March 28-31
This year’s service project with the Office of Multicultural Affairs will focus on collecting food donations and raising awareness of the food insecurity many farmworking families face.
