Service Centers
Our job is to work with you in developing a rate for your service center, and to meet the needs of your department. We will meet with you and guide you through the process, answering questions you have along the way.
What is a service center?
A departmental unit who provides goods or services to units within the university. Services can range from highly specialized to routine in nature and the activity is ongoing. For Service Centers with gross revenue of $10,000 or more, a formal rate approval is required. – See APM 20.20 – Service Center Policies and Practices.

Determining Service Center Rates
The following spreadsheets are used by University of Idaho departments to develop service center rates. Please select the appropriate spreadsheet, based on the number of services you will be providing to customers.
You will need to use Banner Salaries Instructions in conjunction with these documents.
Service centers are reviewed and monitored by the Office of Sponsored Programs Cost Accounting Unit. For departments providing over 30 services, or with other special reporting needs, please contact us.
