Eye Strain
Suffering from tired or dry eyes after spending time on your computer? Follow these tips to reduce pains and strains:
- Follow the 20/20 rule — Every 20 minutes, look away from the screen and focus on a distant object for 20 seconds.
- Be sure your computer screen is positioned properly — about an arm's length away with the top of the screen at or just below eye level.
- Lessen lighting — use well-placed task lighting to illuminate documents and desk work instead of overly bright, overhead lighting.
- Have your eyes checked regularly — your eye doctor may recommend special glasses, the use of eye drops or other measures that can increase your comfort level.
