My name is Jason House, I have a beautiful wife, the job of my dreams and a two year old son that amazes me every day. I am a native Idahoan and local to the area. I joined the U.S. Army when I was 23 years old. In four short years I had been deployed to Iraq, wounded in combat, completed recovery and was enrolled at the University of Idaho. Being back home, starting school at the age of 27... surrounded by 18 and 19 year old kids. College at this point was more foreign than the sand still in my boots. School was nothing like the military, but as a soldier, you must have a mission. I made school that mission. I wanted to create a life after the military as a functioning, successful member of society. I owed it to myself and to those who did not come home. Operation Education made this mission a success. I owed it to the donors of the program not to give up, to drive on, to complete the mission. Aside from the monetary benefits, the program put me in touch with other like-minded individuals who experienced the same things I did. After graduating in 2013, I was offered a job with the Moscow Police Department. I have been with the agency for six yeas now and I work in the investigations division as a detective. It is a new mission, new mindset and a new chapter in my life. Operation Education and the people I met through the program helped me get where I am today.
