Jennifer Tengono is an Idaho transplant from Rocklin, California. After growing up in a small town along the hillsides of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, she was looking to establish roots somewhere that reminded her of her home growing up. After eight years of active-duty service in the U.S. Army, she worked for a non-profit community corrections facility in Colorado and as a Deputy Sheriff and Bailiff for the Third District Court in Salt Lake City, Utah. She has a passion for volunteering and helping those in her community who are facing issues with the legal and criminal justice systems, especially veterans. She completed her Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice Administration with the University of Phoenix and her J.D. with the University of Idaho's College of Law in 2020. During law school she was a recipient of The Washington Center's VET Initiative 2018 summer internship, allowing her to spend a summer in Washington, D.C. working for then Vice Chair of the House Veteran's Committee, Congressman Mark Takano. She was President of the Veterans at the University of Idaho student group and Chapter President of the Student Veterans of America, University of Idaho Chapter. She was also a 2019 Operation Education recipient and looks forward to supporting both Operation Education and the Military and Veteran Students at the University of Idaho.
Jennifer lives and works in Moscow, Idaho in a small law office practicing real estate, small business, and estate planning law and serves as a Guardian Ad Litem for Idaho's Second District. She has a young son that loves living on the Palouse, its snowy winters, and the outdoors.
